The University of North Carolina Baseball team has begun Fall Practice.

No update as of yet on the confirmed dates for the Fall World Series (normally mid-October).

The Fall World Series is historically a two series affair with a draft where each player is matched with another to ensure that each roster will be able to fill a competitive team within the roster limits.

One of my favorite times of the year - whenever you attend a game you get to see all North Carolina players playing and you get to see everyone on the roster get an opportunity to shine (reference Luis Paula last fall with a stunning performance) and give the coaching staff all the insight that they need to make the decisions for the spring roster.

I'm ready for some BASEBALL!!!

Are there any players who were projected to be back from last year's team who aren't even participating in fall practice? I know more cuts will have to be made before we trim to our spring roster, but I was wondering if we've already had any attrition this summer.

yes would be nice to know who transferred to other schools and are not even enrolled and I'm sure there were several.

I think that it goes without saying that this is a very sensitive subject with the coaching staff and players that may or may not be competing for an opportunity.

It's my understanding that George Carter may be giving up baseball but remaining at UNC with plans to go to pharmacy school.

Can anybody confirm or correct that?

Seemed weird how Carter got a very early appearance or two then nothing the rest of the season. I suspected injury. Guess we'll find out eventually.
