Thoughts on Crisp Academy—BCA series beyond the field

Thoughts on Crisp Academy—BCA series beyond the field

Wanted to congratulate Crisp Academy on their semifinal series win today at Bethlehem Christian Academy. You have a solid team there's no doubt about it.

I sat in "enemy territory" covering the game for the Barrow Journal. Was made welcome by Crisp fans. I loved your enthusiasm and support of your players. Just as impressive was I did not hear one comment from any Crisp fan giving coaching "advice" to the coaches. I can't begin to tell you how rare that is in high school athletics.

I grew up watching GISA sports (1989 graduate of Piedmont Academy) and it is nice to be able to cover the GISA again for the paper I work for. I think great things are in store for BCA baseball and all its athletic programs.

Once again congrats to Crisp Academy and best of luck in the finals. I trust all of you make it home safely.

Thank you.  BCA played hard and never let up.  They were great games that will help us get ready for next weekend.  Hope we meet again next year.

Just getting over my sunburn from sitting out all Friday afternoon! flushed

BCA expected to see great pitching from CA and got it. Knew it would be the best staff they had faced all year. The top part of the order made adjustments and had some success, while the lower part of the order struggled most of the day.

BCA made some uncharacteristic errors; I don't know if that was first-time playoff jitters or what. I will say this in BCA's defense - they were missing two starters because of injury, although I honestly don't know that that would've changed the outcome.

Very good, competitive games, which hopefully will help BCA grow. There are no seniors on the team (or at the school), so if everyone comes back they should be in the hunt again next year. I know Nat Greene and Westminster both played a lot of young guys this year, and TJA is always solid, Curtis Baptist joins the region next year, know nothing about them. I feel sure BCA will schedule as many solid higher division schools as they can to help them prepare for the pitching they will see in the playoffs.

CA/WW should be a great final series; good luck to both teams!

BCA has a great facility and really great people that hosted the visitors very well.  You should be very proud of the kids.  I really like the layout of the field as well.  Good idea on playing AAA and AA teams.

enjoyed your updates and post this season.  im sure we will meet next year. bca looks strong coming back, as well as our wildcats with 2 of top 3 pitchers from this year and a whole lot of offense coming back. next season cant come fast enough because this one is about to end...but not until some business is taking care of. good luck.wink
