Coming out of mini-slump - take 2 of 3 from Jays, 3-3 road trip.
A very odd game last night. Tribe takes a 12-0 lead in the third, and then hangs on. Tomlin is dominant early, then gives up three straight triples - something that hasn't happened in MLB since 1981.
The wind was blowing . . . out. Some of the most baffling errors I have ever seen. The third triple was a gift. Choo has a line drive that seems to go through the centerfielder's glove. Everett stunk at 2nd base and had an error. Raffy Perez stunk in relief, unable to throw strikes, or balls that weren't tattooed.
But Asdrubel is on fire, Sizemore's swing is coming back, Santana's swing is coming back as well. Brantley is hitting well as the DH. And Pestano - not as good as Tuesday night, but he was very, very good in righting the ship after Perez crapped the bed.
On to face the Rangers, at home! http://www.cleveland.com/tribe...ore_8_runs.htmlCleveland Indians build 12-0 lead, hang on to outlast Toronto, 13-9By Paul Hoynes, The Plain DealerThe Indians did their scoring early and their hanging on late Wednesday night at Rogers Centre. As for the crisis of faith in the 2011 Tribe being averted, well, that's going to need a little more time.
Still, it's hard not to like the way manager Manny Acta's ballclub responded after being shut out twice over the weekend by Tampa Bay and beaten soundly in Monday's series opener here. Not only did they win the last two games to go 3-3 on the trip, but they did it with a bang by scoring 19 runs on 30 hits.
The Indians wrapped things up with a 13-9 victory over Toronto in which Asdrubal Cabrera led an 18-hit attack with four hits and three RBI.
"We made a very good comeback on this trip," said Acta. "We took two out of three here to finish .500. It's not perfect, but considering the way we're playing at home we'll take it."
